The book is very well written and is aimed at a general reading audience. When that happens, the reader usually only takes away one or two of the sub-concepts rather than the message as a whole. I bought this book a while ago because I like reading how other people perform basic maintenance on their cars. Narwhal meets Jelly and they have to figure out if they are real or just imaging one another. Most important, he does a great job of making the reader feel like he is right there with us--every step of the way--as we walk our difficult journey through the difficulties of life. It had funny moments, but it was not one of my favorite books.. My toddler can take it or leave it, she is taking cues from her sisters and "oooo-ing" and "ahhh-ing" in the appropriate places. It seems outrageous that Nowell would write an entire book on how to be successful and not once mention that it helps if you oppress workers at the bottom of the supply chain. Don't skip it. Once again, the mystery and story telling ability of this dynamic duo of writers keeps the reader hanging onto every word. This book is boring!!!!!! It is not for older kids. It's now time for us to emerge from "anthropodenial" about animal culture and "of being tied to how we are unlike any animal".
