In Sagan's book, the heroine travels through space/time to meet aliens, even though it looks to observers on the ground as though she went nowhere. When I bought this book I was afraid that it would be gossipy like THE RISE AND FALL OF THE HOUSE OF BARNEYS. I have to say that I got as much out of this book as my kids did. This serves to make Snoopy more dog-like and it makes Rerun very sympathetic, which has not always been the case with other members of his family. This is a clear and well-written discourse on what inflammation is, and the role it plays in a multitude of problems;it is convincing and sincere. As Goble points out, in Buffalo Days the stories about Iktomi reflected human nature and the wide range of possibilities from the divine all the way down.
